It is now possible to transfer files of any arbitrary size across the network (subject to filesystem limitations, of course). There are still a lot of rough edges to be ironed out, but one of the most serious bugs plaguing NitroShare since launch has been fixed. The portions of the application that are nearly complete include network discovery and file transfer. New bug reports should be filed on the appropriate GitHub page - you will no longer be able to file them here on Launchpad.Īs for the project itself, I have begun rewriting the application from scratch in order to take advantage of C++11 and Qt5. Launchpad will continue to be utilized for daily builds and translations. You can view the project at the URL below: NitroShare development has now moved to GitHub. com/nitroshare/ nitroshare- desktop/ issues Now that we've moved to GitHub, bugs should be filed here: https:/ /github.

An RPC interface is also planned.Īs always, please download the program and let us know if you run into any bugs. The next release is still in the planning stages, but I am definitely hoping to reimplement the "share boxes" that were removed from this release due to time constraints. Mateo Salta helped out with the OS X build and created the new logo, which also looks really awesome. Daniel San helped create the About and Settings dialog, both of which look really awesome. Two people deserve special mention with this release.
#NITROSHARE PAUSE CODE#
Nearly everything was rewritten in order to better organize the code and improve performace. We also took advantage of a number of C++11 features.

There were an untold number of changes under the hood - we switched from Qt 4.x to Qt 5.x. NitroShare will even add an exception to the Windows Firewall or UFW if necessary. Just start the program on each device and you're good to go - everything should happen automatically. We've simplified the discovery process - you no longer need to do anything after installing NitroShare to get it to work. This is certainly not the only change, however. And it's fast too - NitroShare consistently matched or outperformed SMB in our tests. You can transfer files of any size regardless of how much memory either device has. NitroShare 0.3.0 is finally available for download.īy far, the biggest change in this release is the removal of all file size limitations during transfer. This release was a long time in the making, but at long last, it has arrived.
